Davarzani: We are at the outset of a rough road
The president of Iran volleyball federation, Mr. Davarzani said: “qualifying to Olympic is not an end but it is the beginning of a rough road”.
As the public relations of volleyball federation reported, a tribute ceremony was paid on June, 11 to appreciate the national volleyball players publicly for qualifying to Rio Olympic Games. Dr. Mohammadreza Davarzani in the opening speech said: “I am so delighted that a 52-year dream came true after 10 years of non-stoppable efforts”.
He also expressed his deep gratitude toward the Minister of Youth and Sport, His Deputies, National Olympic Committee, the Sponsors (Hamrahe Awal & Day Bank) and all of those who tried to fulfill the 52-year dream.
He further indicated: “all the national players of the past thirty or forty years have played an active role to implement the plans of federation. We are at the outset of a rough road. We cannot take the road without cooperation and support. I deeply appreciate Dr. Goudarzi, the minister of youth and sport who continuously asked the physical and mental conditions of the players. I wish the new season will replete with honours. I also thank our national players who did their best.
He also appreciated the martyrs who endangered their lives to save million Iranian and bring a secure life to our people.
Davarzani elaborated: “the critics are always out there to help us, though they sometimes were on the extreme side. We planned to target a title in Olympic 2020; yet we will do our best in full measure this year to have a good performance”.
