Davarzani: The priority goes to prospective talents for the national team
The president of Iran Volleyball Federation, Mohammad Reza Davarzani who is also a member of FIVB’s board of administration has officially established one new volleyball academy in Kashan Province. He believed that any volleyball academy must have the “Volleyball your Way” in mind to help the next national teams of Iran by finding talents as the ones we have right now in the national team.
“Iran’s volleyball is now among the top eight teams of the World”, Davarzani said.
He also added: the juniors are also working very qualitatively and I think they are very smart; I wish them joining to Olympic Games hence. There were a time when we were six in Asia but the junior and the youth team of Iran could crown the Asian championship and they have the third place of the World that is of course a big promotion. We are really working hard to get into the far rural areas of Iran to create the opportunity for the talents everywhere.
He also stated: “we have a tough year ahead of us as Iran must go to Japan for Olympic Qualifier that is very serious to us and we are all waiting to make the dream of qualifying for Olympic Games comes true. Twelve days later, Iran must switch back to the World League Campaign within three weeks respectively in Brazil, Serbia, and Iran. The format of the matches has been changed and it is more like the Grand Prix wherein three matches are held each week and there will be five plays in the final round. Olympic Games takes place fifteen days right after the WL.
As he put, “Iran B team will take his chance to AVC Volleyball Cup, the juniors will fight in the Asian Games, and the women’s junior and senior teams will have another tournament in Asian Games while the beach teams will test their chance in Olympic Qualifier.
As Iran has recently accepted three coaches, he further informed that Lozano (the new coach of Senior Men), the Brazilian Kioday (the coach of beach volleyball), and Ms. Majda Cicic (the Women’s Coach) will come to Tehran in this month.
